Suitable Girl

A photo series with a satirical take on the quintessential suitable girl every South Asian man and his mother wants. A stunning, subservient and appropriately educated girl. The series pieces together a journey of acculturation, hypocrisy, identity, and first world problems in a third world society; told through the character of a blow up doll.

This unreal object lodged in reality tackles themes like the objectification of women, the mundanity of marriage and age-old societal pressures of contemporary global societies.
